Whilst most soccer leagues around the world take a break at Christmas the players in the EPL are afforded no such luxuries as the schedule intensifies at this time of year.
The players have been playing since August and unlike other leagues there is no break until May. This week sees teams playing their fourth game in only ten or eleven days. Many players will be tired and not enjoying playing in the poor weather conditions.
Teams with strong squads and few injuries can be expected to perform well. Arsenal is one such team.
